A “different” destination located in the northwestern side of the island. A seaside paradise like no other, with amazing sandy beach, clear waters, safe for holidays when travelling with children, quality small taverns, no traffic and friendly service. "Well, where is the 'difference' from the rest part of Corfu," one might think. "That's how you describe the whole island."
People make the difference. As everywhere in the world, so here the actions and interventions of people define the character of the place. The active cultural association has raised the level of daily life of the residents and a great example is the wine festival that takes place in Arillas in September. A feast dedicated with respect to wine, which together with olive oil are the basis of the island's economy from antiquity to the present day.
Earlier, in the heart of summer the same association organizes a big welcome feast for Arrilas’ migrants in their homeland. An emotional “meeting”, open to everyone , full of local music, dance and songs.
The wider area of Arrilas is considered a magnetic field, a theory that attracts those keen in meditation exercises and yoga since energy fields help concentration. So don't be surprised if you come across different tribes of meditators from around the world, who in the summers prefer this area in order to combine their holidays with their communication with the cosmic consciousness.
Another element of uniqueness is the presence in the area of Corfiot brewery, one of the first microbreweries established in Greece. Corfu Beer is produced in Arillas and is a major tourist attraction in northern Corfu. After all, the international beer festival takes place here every September.
Finally, Arillas is suitable for hiking as one can visit the surrounding areas on foot such as Porto Timoni, Magoulades and Agios Stefanos Avlioton, where the port to Diapontian islands is located.
